Charitable Gift Annuities

What Is a Charitable Gift Annuity?

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. You contribute cash, securities, or property to the Alliance and in return you receive a guaranteed, fixed income for life.

What Benefits Do You Receive?

You receive a fixed income for life. This income is guaranteed by the Alliance and is paid on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis. Additionally, 33% to 75% of the income that you receive is tax-free (as determined by official Treasury tables).

The rate of return that is paid is attractive, reaching as high as 12%

How Does the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals Benefit?

Your gift will allow the Alliance to plan for its future. At your death, the remainder of your gift that is not used to provide the lifetime income to you will allow the Alliance to continue its work of calling the twenty-first century church to a modern reformation. If you choose a life income to you and your spouse (or other person) the remainder of your gift which is not used to provide the lifetime income to you and your beneficiary is available to the Alliance after the death of you and your beneficiary.

More Ways You Will Benefit

  • You will receive a sizable charitable income tax deduction when the gift is made.
  • Probate costs and Federal estate taxes are avoided.
  • If the gift consists of appreciated property (such as stocks or real estate), then a large portion of the capital gains tax is avoided.
  • Finally, you receive the personal satisfaction of continuing the work of the Alliance into the future

Note: Joint annuities can be set up to pay income for your life, then for the life of your spouse or loved one.

For Example…

Mrs. Smith, age 82, gives $50,000 to the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals agrees to pay Mrs. Smith $4,250 (8.5%) every year for the rest of her life.

ADVANTAGE: Of the $4,250 Mrs. Smith receives each year, only $1,434 is reportable as taxable income. $2,816 is tax-free income for her.

PLUS: Mrs. Smith receives an immediate income tax deduction of $26,630 (figured from an official Treasury table).
