What an illustration of the effects of sin! Someone may think that their loss of temper or their crisis of passion lasted for only a moment, but corroding effects may continue for months in the life of a Christian and the wages are death in the life of a non-Christian. The death that proceeded from Adam's sin is still causing casualties.

For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked....Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall into ruin.  How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!  Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, you rouse yourself and despise them as phantoms. “ Ps. 73:1; 18-20)

1. Read Psalm 73.  Are you tempted like the psalmists when you see the prosperity of the wicked?

2. Reflect on the consequences of the sins of Adam, King David, and King Solomon.  What lessons can you learn from their “radioactivity” to help you with temptation?

3. In spite of “radioactivity” what hope does 1 John 1:9 hold for us?
